Select Surfaces Wilmington Stair Nose Molding is designed to complement Select Surfaces™ Hybrid-Resilient Flooring: Wilmington (990285959 - 990285958). Each pack contains five stair nose moldings, each 47 inches in length.   

Stair Nose Molding   

This is a specialized trim piece used in the installation of Hybrid-Resilient Flooring on stairs. It is designed to provide a seamless transition between the horizontal surface of the Hybrid-Resilient Flooring. The main function of stair nose molding is to protect the exposed edges of the Hybrid-Resilient Flooring on stairs from wear and tear, and to prevent tripping hazards by providing a smooth, rounded edge that is easy to navigate. It also enhances the overall aesthetic appeal of the staircase by providing a clean, finished look.  

Installation  

Leave a ¼ in (6 mm) expansion gap between the molding and the laminate plank. If desired, moldings can be glued to the sub-floors or concrete, but should not be glued directly to the laminate plank. To ensure a waterproof installation, apply silicone caulking to the edge of the molding that will come in direct contact with the Hybrid-Resilient Flooring surface and immediately wipe away any excess silicone caulking. Also, make sure to follow the installation instructions for both the stair nose molding and the Hybrid-Resilient Flooring to ensure a safe and effective installation.
