What is 5-HTP?

5-HTP, (5-hydroxytryptophan), is the intermediate metabolite between the amino acid L-tryptophan and serotonin, and is extracted from the seed of an African plant. This dietary supplement is typically used as a sleep supplement and supports a positive mood and relaxation.* 5-HTP supports the production of serotonin in the brain and central nervous system, and serotonin can impact sleep, mood, appetite, and body temperature.* 

Manufacturing Testing and Assurance

Not manufactured with wheat, gluten, soy, milk, egg, fish, shellfish or tree nut ingredients. Produced in a GMP facility that processes other ingredients containing these allergens. Made and quality tested in the USA in NOW’s Natural Products Association (NPA) A-rated, GMP-certified manufacturing facility. NOW conducts approximately 19,000 quality control tests per month in their in-house labs to ensure their products are safe and effective. In taking more positive steps on their journey to reduce the company's environmental impact, NOW is starting the transition of their supplement bottles to 100% post-consumer recycled (PCR) resin in 2023.
