The children's book Carl Makes a Plan promotes positive perspectives on social/emotional issues, showing how Carl plans an entire birthday party for his friend using methods that suit his needs. The 24-page fiction book also includes a "words to know" vocabulary list and comprehension questions to keep the learning going. Carl was first introduced in our Katie Can series, based on our best-selling book of the same title. In the story, Katie becomes friends with her early-elementary classmate Carl through her familiarity with basic ASL. We are continuing with Carl's story in the new and inclusive Carl Can series.
