We are the Boscoli Family, passionate manufacturers of only the finest Italian, gourmet foods. Boscoli Foods, Inc. was established in 1992 and is headquartered in the Greater New Orleans area, the heart of our world-famous Creole Italian cuisine. Our products are created from time-honored, traditional Old World recipes handed down through generations of Italian families.
In the early 1900's, when the Italian population of New Orleans reached its peak, an Italian bakery produced a large, round loaf of bread. This bread was split and thinly layered with popular Italian cold cuts: quality ham, Mortadella, Genoa salami, Provolone cheese and topped with Italian Olive Salad to create an over-stuffed sandwich called the "Muffuletta."
Boscoli Family Italian Olive Salad is a medley of pickled cauliflower, carrots, celery, green olives, black olives and capers, combined with our special blend of spices and select oils, still hand-made using our 100-year-old family recipe.
Today, Italian Olive Salad remains a popular condiment on sandwiches, and is used as a topping on Italian salads, in hot and cold pasta salads, potato salads, tuna salads, seafood salads, on pizza and bruschetta, and as an antipasti. As our Boscoli Family continued to grow, we expanded our product line to include Jalapeno Olive Salad, Kalamata Olive Salad, Balsamic Vinegar, Dirty Martini Juice, Stuffed Olives, and a variety of Pickled Vegetables.
